Work visa in Kazakhstan - C3, C4, C5

Eligible individuals can apply for a “C3” category Working visa, which allows single entry for up to 90 days, and in some cases up to 1 year, or multiple entries for up to 3 years. Workers associated with the Astana International Financial Centre may be granted a visa valid for up to 5 years. This visa is intended for foreigners coming to Kazakhstan for work, including their family members.

For a “C3” category Working visa, you need the following:

• An invitation letter with a visa support number issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan along with an Employment Contract;

• A visa application form that must be accurately filled out in block letters, as improperly completed forms will not be accepted;

• A recent color passport-sized photograph (3.5cm x 4.5cm), to be attached to the designated area in the upper right-hand corner of the form (full face, no smiling, no sunglasses, and no head coverings unless for religious or cultural reasons, with a white background);

• A passport with at least two blank pages, valid for at least three months beyond the requested visa period;

• A copy of the passport.

Individuals can apply for a “C4” category Working visa, allowing single entry for up to 90 days or multiple entries for up to 3 years, if they are adult foreigners intending to self-employ in high-demand professions within Kazakhstan’s priority economic sectors.

For a “C4” category Working visa, the following are required:

• An invitation letter with a visa support number from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan and an Employment Contract;

• A properly completed visa application form in block letters, as incomplete forms will be rejected;

• A recent color passport-sized photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm) to be attached to the appropriate area on the application form (full face, no smiling, no sunglasses, and no head coverings unless religiously or culturally mandated, against a white background);

• A passport with a minimum of two blank pages, valid for at least three months longer than the visa period requested;

• A copy of the passport.

You may apply for a “C5” category Working (Business Immigrant) visa, valid for single entry up to 90 days or multiple entries up to 2 years, and in some cases up to 3 years, if you are an adult engaged in entrepreneurial activities in Kazakhstan.

For a “C5” category Working (Business Immigrant) visa, either single entry for up to 90 days or multiple entries for up to 2 years (up to 3 years for ethnic Kazakhs), the following documents are necessary:

• A medical certificate confirming the absence of diseases that would restrict entry for foreigners into Kazakhstan;

• Valid medical insurance;

• A document verifying the presence or absence of a criminal record, issued by the relevant authority in your country of citizenship or residence;

• A document indicating whether or not there is a court-ordered ban on your entrepreneurial activities, provided such documentation is required by the legislation of your home country;

• An invitation letter with a visa support number from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan;

• A correctly completed visa application form in block letters, as improperly completed forms will not be accepted;

• A recent color passport-sized photograph (3.5cm x 4.5cm) affixed to the designated area in the upper right-hand corner of the application form (full face, no smiling, no sunglasses, and no head coverings unless religiously or culturally required, with a white background);

• A passport with at least two blank pages, valid for at least three months beyond the requested visa period;

• A copy of the passport;

• A bank statement covering the last 6 months.
